Height: Native evergreen that grows 50-100 feet tall but one has been found in nature that is 270 feet tall.
Habitat: Likes moist to well drained soil and full sun. This tree had deep root.
Foliage: Blueing green to silver needles.
Fruits: Reddish oval cones only near the top of the tree.
Bark: Flaky gray to red brown bark
Natural Habitat: Deep forests at high elevationsin Washington State
Why is it good for my garden? A great ornamental as it is a symmetrical evergreen and very popular as Christmas trees. Pine Siskin use these trees for nesting.
