Height: This mounding evergreen perennial grows 6 to 12 inches tall and wide. With flower spikes that may get taller.
Habitat: Grows best in a well drained to sandy soil in a full to part sun area. Tolerates saline conditions.
Foliage: Clump, mound, or cushion of grass like dark green evergreen leaves.
Flowers: Pink to lavender flowers form a globular structure on top of a log stem March through July.
Natural Habitat: This perennial grows mostly on beaches and bluffs along coastal areas but can also are found inland along river banks or grassy meadows; scattered along coastline at low elevations.
Why is it good for my garden? This compact perennial makes a great small mounding ground cover for dry well drained areas. Good for rock gardens or front of borders. Tolerates sea spray. The many flowers are great for pollinators.
