Height: Rhizomatous sedge that grows to 4 -16 “ tall.
Habitat: Grows best in well drained or sandy soils in a sunny area.
Foliage: Sharp or rough green leaves extend out of base.
Flowers (Inflorescence): Large brown flowering heads to 2-3 inches tall.
Fruits: This sedge produces seed.
Natural Habitat: Found commonly along sandy seashores.
Why is it good for my garden? This is a great sedge to have if you have a shore front property or a sandy area. This is a small sedge with showy flowers.
