Height: This rhizomatous perennial sedge can grow to 6 to 12 inches tall and 2 feet wide.
Habitat: Grows best in moist soil and full to part sun.
Foliage: Thin leaves with a vain running down the middle
Flowers (Inflorescence): Green to brown flowers or seed pods in May to June.
Fruits: This sedge produces seeds.
Natural Habitat: Found in mist meadows, along sea bluffs, and slopes
Why is it good for my garden? The big leaf sedge is great for stabilizing your soil in wet areas. Seeds are eaten by birds so it will attract wildlife to your garden.
