Height: This perennial can grow up to 1.5 ft tall.
Habitat: Grows best in a dry or well drained area with full sun.
Foliage: Alternate, lobbed, lance shaped, green fuzzy leaves.
Flowers: Bright red, deeply lobed flowers that are occasionally yellow. Blooms April though August.
Natural Habitat: Found in open areas of forest to grassy slopes down to sea level.
Why is it good for my garden? This is a bright perennial that would work well in a flower garden. It grows well with fescue. Butterflies and other pollinators are attracted to this flower.
