Height: This deciduous tree can grow from 12 to 65 ft tall.

Habitat: Grows best in moist to well drained soil in full sun to open shade.

Foliage: Opposite oval to heart shaped green leaves that turn bright red in fall.

Flowers: Large 4 to 8 petaled flowers bloom April through June.

Fruits: Bright red fruit.

Bark: New growth bark is grayish purple and turns brown with age and is smooth.

Why is it good for my garden?  This tree has beautiful flowers, bright fruit, great fall color, and good branch structure so will add eye appeal to your landscape year round. Northern Flickers like to nest in the dogwood and enjoy the berries.
