Height: This perennial can grow to 1 foot tall.
Habitat: Grows best in moist to well drained soil, full sun to full shade areas.
Foliage: Two oblong, thick, green leaves with modeling grow from base. Modeling can be light green to burgundy.
Flowers: Six petal, purple to pink flower grows out of burgundy colored stock and opens facing the ground with the petals curling up wards. Yellow center. Blooms April through May.
Natural Habitat: Found around banks or forest edges.
Why is it good for my garden? This pretty perennial that grows from a bulb that is called a corm, is a great splash of color to many areas. Bees like this perennial.
