Height: This evergreen ground cover grows to 4 to 6 inches tall and can spread to 3 ft. wide.
Habitat: Grows best in well drained to sandy soil in full to part sun.
Foliage: Dark green, oblong, leathery, toothed, veined leaf. Usually arranged in threes with a red hue to the edges.
Flowers: Five petal white flower with yellow center bloom April to June.
Fruits: Sweet, edible, small, red berries.
Natural Habitat: Found along the shore line on sand dunes and bluffs.
Why is it good for my garden? These strawberries make for a great evergreen ground cover and is a tasty treat in your garden. Easy to grow and fast growing. Also attracts a variety of wildlife. Grows great across woody mulches. Great to use to cover septic mounds.
