Height: This deciduous tree can grow to 70 ft. tall and about 30 ft. wide.
Habitat: Grows well in moist to well draining soil in full to part sun. Fast growing tree.
Foliage: Opposite, oblong, green leaf that is pointed at each end. Fall color of bright yellow.
Flowers: Small yellow or green flowers bloom March through May.
Fruits: Seed that is a single samaras (winged seed pack) form in clusters.
Bark: Greyish-brown bark that is fissured with age.
Natural Habitat: Found in moist areas along forest edges and marshes.
Why is it good for my garden? Oregon Ash is a great tree for re-vegetating wet areas. This tree also turns an attractive yellow color in the fall. May attract wildlife for food and shelter.
