Height: This grass called a rush can grow to 3 ft. tall it spreads by rhizomes.
Habitat: Grows best in moist to wet areas in full to part sun. This rush can grow in salt water areas.
Foliage: Round green blades grow along rhizomes.
Flowers (Inflorescence): Flowers are brown with yellow and dainty pink center and bloom in June though August.
Fruits: Oblong seed pack have many small seeds in them.
Natural Habitat: Found in most moist places.
Why is it good for my garden? This rush can grow in an area with salt water which makes it a good plant if you live along the coast or along an inlet. Grows well along road sides due to the salt used on the road as well.
