Height: This perennial that grows from a bulb can grow from 4 to 6 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in moist soil in full to part sun.
Foliage: Shiny, lance shaped, bright green leaves arranged in whorls around stem.
Flowers: Bright orange flowers with deep red purple spotted around the center of flower. Petals curl backwards as the whole flower points to the ground. These bloom May to August.
Natural Habitat: Found in meadows to open forest habitat.
Why is it good for my garden? This lovely orange lily grows well in open or shady spots in your garden and grows well amongst shrubs and ferns. The Columbia Lily will add a delightful and delicate beauty to your garden. It is also an edible plant; usually the starchy bulb is cooked and may taste like slightly bitter sweet chestnuts.
