Height: This perennial that grows from a bulb can reach heights of 7 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in moist to well drained soil in full to part sun.
Foliage: Lance shaped, green leaves arranged in whorls around stem.
Flowers: Deep orange flowers with purple spots around the center. Petals curl backwards as the flower points to the ground.
Natural Habitat: Found along stream-banks and in moist meadows.
Why is it good for my garden? The leopard lily with its large orange flowers is a most have to most gardens. It is loved by humming birds and other pollinators. Unfortunately, the wild population is declining so we should do our part and plant as many as we can find.
