Height: This deciduous shrub can grow from 2 to 10 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in moist to wet soil in full sun to full shade.
Foliage: Opposite, oval shaped, pointed leaves with hairs on the underside.
Flowers: Double (twin), yellow, tube shaped flowers bloom April through August.
Fruits: Double (twin) flowers produce double, shiny, black, edible fruit with a bright red braces (leafs) surrounding them.
Bark: Reddish brown bark.
Natural Habitat: Found in forest openings to marshes and in moist areas.
Why is it good for my garden? Twinberry is a popular ornamental plant that is resistant to air pollution and can be kept in a large garden and is easy to grow. Works well for shaded rain gardens. Pretty flowers bring in pollinators and shiny fruit bring in birds.
