Height: This perennial can grow from 1 to 2 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in dry soil in full sun.
Foliage: Lance shaped, silvery green leaves grow in a circular fan shaped cluster.
Flowers: Small pale purple flowers grow in a large long spike cluster blooming in May through June.
Fruits: Hairy gray seed pods form after flower fades.
Natural Habitat: Found from sagebrush plains to ponderosa forests.
Why is it good for my garden? Lupine is a great plant easy to grow and grows pretty fast. The beautiful large flowers attract pollinators. Note that the seed are poisonous to human and livestock.
