Height: This perennial can grow from 1 to 4 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in moist to dry soil in full to part sun.
Foliage: Lance shaped, gray green leaves grow in a circular fan shaped cluster.
Flowers: Small purple to pink flowers grow in a large long spike cluster blooming in June through August.
Fruits: Hairy gray seed pods form after flower fades.
Natural Habitat: Found in low prairies and sub alpine meadows.
Why is it good for my garden? Lupine is a great plant easy to grow and grows pretty fast. The beautiful large flowers attract pollinators. Note that the seed are poisonous to human and livestock.
