Height: This perennial can grow to 1 foot tall.

Habitat: Grows best in sandy to dry soil in full sun.

Foliage: Lance shaped, gray green leaves grow in a circular fan shaped cluster.

Flowers: Small purple flowers with a lighter top petal grow in a large long spike cluster blooming in May through August.

Fruits: Hairy gray seed pods form after flower fades.

Natural Habitat: Found along coastline in sand dunes and on beaches.

Why is it good for my garden? Lupine is a great plant easy to grow and grows pretty fast. The beautiful large flowers attract pollinators. Note that the seed are poisonous to human and livestock.
