Height: This perennial can grow from 1 to 3 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows well in moist to well drained soil in full to part shade.
Foliage: Opposite, serrated, lance shaped, pointed green leaves.
Flowers: Trumpet shaped purple to pink flowers blooms June through August.
Natural Habitat: Found in forest understories to edges.
Why is it good for my garden? This is a great plant to put along a forested area or a hedge. Flowers attract hummingbirds and other pollinators. Was part of the penstemon family but separated from it because it has winged seeds.
