Height: This perennial can grow to 12 inches tall.

Habitat: Grows best in dry to sandy soil in full sun.

Foliage: Thick spiny green pads.

Flowers: Large, yellow flower that can have some red hues and red center bloom May to July.

Natural Habitat: Found in dry sandy places mostly in the San Juan Islands.

Why is it good for my garden? This perennial would be great to add to a rock garden or a dry area around your the house. Brings in pollinators.
