Height: This rhizomatous perennial can grow to maybe 1 foot tall.
Habitat: Grows best in moist to well drained areas in full to part sun.
Foliage: Thick, oval shaped leaves with reddish edges and can be white veined.
Flowers: Small, white to pink, 5 petal flowers that grow in clusters at the end of the flower stack. Bloom April though June.
Fruits: Small capsules with lots of seeds.
Natural Habitat: Found mostly all through Canada and north.
Why is it good for my garden? This wintergreen is a great ground cover .
