Height: This rhizomatous deciduous shrub can grow to 2 to 6 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in moist to dry soil in full to part sun.
Foliage: Small, oval shaped pointed, toothed green leaves.
Flowers: Fragrant pink to pink purple, 5 petaled flowers, grow in clusters and bloom May through July.
Fruits: Small red to orange pear shaped rose hips.
Bark: Gray brown bark has many thorns.
Natural Habitat: Found in dry to moist wooded areas.
