Height:  This rhizomatous, deciduous, shrub can grow from 3 to 8 ft. tall.

Habitat:  Grows best in moist to dry soil in full to part sun.

Foliage:  Oval shaped, pointed, toothed, thick, green leaves.

Flowers: Large bright pink or white, 5 petal, fragrant flowers bloom May through August.

Fruits:  Large, bright red, edible rose hips.

Bark:  Brown, thorny bark.

Natural Habitat:  Introduced.

Why is it good for my garden? Rugosa rose has large fragrant flowers and large edible hips. Can be used for hedges, easy to grow, and fast growing. Attracts pollinators and other wildlife.
