Height: This rhizomatous, deciduous, shrub can grow from 2 to 5 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in moist to dry soil in full to part sun.
Foliage: Oval shaped, pointed, toothed, green leaves.
Flowers: Bright to light pink, 5 petaled flowers bloom in groups at the end of stem in May though July.
Fruits: Red, round, rose hips.
Bark: Reddish brown and thorny.
Natural Habitat: Found in valleys, hills to forest openings.
Why is it good for my garden? Wood's rose is a fast growing shrub that can be used for erosion control. This plant supports pollinators and other wildlife.
