Height: This deciduous shrub or vine can grow from 2 to 8 ft. tall or long. Where branch touches ground it will root and form a new plant.
Habitat: Grows best in moist to dry soil in full sun to full shade.
Foliage: Three leaflets form a leaf that is lobed, toothed, and green.
Flowers: White, 5 petaled flowers bloom April through July.
Fruits: Dark purple, cup shaped, edible, berries.
Bark: Blue green or white green vines with thorns.
Natural Habitat: Found in think forest edges and openings.
Why is it good for my garden? Blackcap raspberry is a great plant for its delicious berries, it will need room to grow so plant it in a place you do not mind it taking over. Loved by pollinators and wildlife.
