Height: This multi stemmed, deciduous shrub can grow from 10 to 50 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in wet to well drained soil in part sun.
Foliage: Oval shaped, pointed, dense, velvety on underside of leaves.
Flowers: Hairy catkins bloom March through June.
Bark: Thin, reddish brown bark.
Natural Habitat: Found in moist woods and along stream banks.
Why is it good for my garden? Scouler's willow would be a good plant for a wet area, grows fast and forms a thicket. Deep tap roots can be good for erosion control.
