Height: This multi stemmed, deciduous shrub can grow from 3 to 25 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in wet to well drained soil in full to part sun.
Foliage: Oval shaped with pointed tip green leaves with hairs on underside.
Flowers: Hairy, yellow to cream colored catkins bloom in April through June.
Bark: Reddish brown smooth bark turns gray with age.
Natural Habitat: Found in moist woods and along stream banks.
Why is it good for my garden? Sitka willow is a good plant for a wet area because it is fast growing one of the shorter willows, and forms thickets. Willows are great habitat for birds and other wildlife.
