Height: This clumping perennial grass can grow from 3 to 6 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in wet to moist areas in full to part sun.
Foliage: Slender, flat, green blades
Flowers (Inflorescence): Small brown flowers grow in clusters and bloom July through August.
Fruits: Fluffy clusters of seeds.
Natural Habitat: Found in wet areas in Whatcom County.
Why is it good for my garden? This grass is good for wetland or along ponds and streams. Birds enjoy the seeds.
