Flowers: Yellow to brown small flowers with no petals bloom May through July.
Fruits: Yellow to red, round fruit with one seed or pit.
Bark: Brown and scaly.
Natural Habitat: Dry, open areas from sea level to mountains.
Why is it good for my garden? Russet buffalo berry is fun to have in your yard with the color contrast of the gray green leaves and bright berries. This shrub is loved by lots of wildlife. Traditionally, berries were eaten. Cooked into syrups or whisked into a froth. They are pretty bitter tasting.
