Height: Evergreen fern that can grow to 1.5 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in humus rich, moist, acidic, soil in part sun to full shade.
Foliage: This fern have two different fronds types. A green frond that stays flat to the ground and a purple-brown frond that grows straight up from the center of the plant.
Natural Habitat: Found in moist forests west of the Cascades.
Why is it good for my garden? This evergreen fern is a great understory plant for party sunny to shady areas and adds texture to your landscape.
