Height: This perennial can grow to 6 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in full sun to full shade in moist areas.
Foliage: Sharply toothed green leaves that have hair like stingers on the underneath.
Flowers: Feathery, green flower plumed around each branching of leaves bloom May to June.
Natural Habitat: West of the Cascades in moist woods and meadows throughout areas of North America; prefers partial shade and consistent moisture.
Why is it good for my garden? This perennial attracts butterflies. Nettles are great for eating and tea but careful of the stinging hairs that break off when you touch the plant this can cause a burning or numbing in the area of sting(will not last long).
