Height: This rhizomatous, deciduous, shrub can grow to 8 ft. tall.

Habitat: Grows best in dry to well drained soil in full to part sun.

Foliage: Opposite, veined, lobed, toothed, green leaf that looks like a maple leaf and turns bright red in fall.

Flowers: Small white flowers form in clusters.

Fruits: Bright red, edible, round berries.

Bark: Brown.

Natural Habitat: Found in moist woods and swamps.
