Height: This rhizomatous, deciduous, shrub can grow from 8 to 15 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in moist to well drained soil in full to part sun.
Foliage: Opposite, veined, lobed, toothed, green leaf that looks like a maple leaf and turns bright red in fall.
Flowers: Small white flowers form in clusters around a center of non opened flowers bloom May through July.
Fruits: Bright red, round berries form in clusters.
Bark: Red brown bark.
Natural Habitat: Found in moist woods and swamps.
Why is it good for my garden? This shrub has bright berries and great fall color. Wildlife enjoys berries.
